November 1, 2019 - In an event that marked a significant milestone for both the academic and research community at BGI, we were honored to host Professor Konstantin Novoselov, Nobel Prize laureate in Physics and esteemed faculty member at the University of Manchester. Dean Zhongfan Liu extended a warm welcome to Professor Novoselov and his delegation, heralding the start of an insightful exchange at the forefront of graphene technology.
Accompanied by Dean Liu, Professor Novoselov embarked on an extensive tour of the BGI campus, which included the BGI exhibition hall, the national-level graphene quality inspection platform, the innovation hub, various research departments, and their laboratories. The visit provided a comprehensive overview of the institute's development over the past year and showcased its pioneering research achievements in high-quality graphene material preparation, super graphene glass, graphene-based LED lighting, carbon fiber, and wearable graphene devices.
Professor Novoselov expressed his admiration and high regard for BGI's developmental progress and its leading-edge research outcomes achieved within the year. The visit culminated in an in-depth technical discussion and exchange between Professor Novoselov and Dean Liu on the applications of graphene and other technical matters, underscoring the potential for future collaboration and innovation in the field.
This visit not only highlights BGI's commitment to excellence in research and development but also emphasizes our ongoing engagement with leading global scientists to further the boundaries of what is possible with graphene technology. We look forward to fostering more of these valuable interactions, as we continue to explore the vast potential of graphene and its applications in transforming the future.
