The Beijing Graphene Forum 2024 (BGF2024) concluded successfully on October 27, following three days of insightful discussions, collaboration, and innovation. Supported by leaders across multiple sectors, the high-profile event gathered over 100 experts, scholars, entrepreneurs, more than 1,000 industry elites, and several media outlets, making it a significant milestone for the graphene industry.


A Media Sensation Expands the Forum’s Reach

The forum not only showcased the evolution of graphene but also explored future industry trends. Multiple media platforms streamed the event live, attracting over 200,000 viewers. Major outlets such as Beijing Radio and Television, Haidian Media, and China Science Daily provided comprehensive coverage, expanding BGF2024's influence to a broader audience.


Diverse Sub-Forums Illuminate Future Applications

Alongside the main event, BGF2024 hosted several sub-forums, including the Nano-Chemistry Forum, New Energy Forum, Young Scientists Forum, and Graphene Sensing Forum. More than 100 presentations were delivered, with authoritative speakers sharing profound insights and future blueprints, inspiring new directions for attendees.


Exhibitor Success and Opportunities for Collaboration

Close to 30 companies showcased products ranging from equipment to new energy solutions and aerospace applications. The vibrant exchange fostered discussions about potential collaborations. Over 140 academic posters enhanced the event’s scientific atmosphere, and 15 posters earned the “Outstanding Poster Award.” Forum Chair Liu Zhongfan and Executive Chair Prof. Peng Hailin presented the awards, encouraging recipients to continue striving for excellence.

The forum’s book launch sessions were a major highlight, featuring academic works, popular science publications, and biographies. These new releases generated excitement and were well-received by attendees, reinforcing the event’s educational impact.


High-Level Dialogue Charts the Path for Industry Development

The "High-Level Dialogue" session brought together influential figures, including BGI Director Liu Zhongfan, Li Yichun (Chairman of the China Graphene Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance), Shi Jun (Founder of Cuihu Fund), Wang Guorong (Vice President of Chint Group), and Lu Weijun (Vice President of BGI). The panel discussed the current state of the graphene industry, opportunities in national policy, and strategies for technology commercialization.


Closing Remarks and Future Outlook

At the closing ceremony, Forum Executive Chair Xu Li, President of BGI, reflected on the event’s achievements, highlighting three core features of BGF2024:

  1. Internationalization – The participation of Nobel laureate Konstantin Novoselov, along with other renowned scholars, added prestige and global perspective.
  2. Openness – Leading experts acted as conveners, bringing fresh speakers and participants, enriching the discussions.
