On November 7, the 12th session of the BGI Lecture Series was held in the Jin Xi Hall. The event featured a special talk by Prof. Francesco Bonaccorso, co-founder and scientific director of BeDimensional SpA, Italy. Researchers from various BGI departments attended the session, engaging in lively discussions and exchanges.
Prof. Bonaccorso delivered a lecture titled Solution Processing of High Quality 2D Materials: Status and Prospect, where he presented the latest advancements in the production and industrial scaling of 2D materials by his team. He showcased the efficiency of manufacturing high-quality 2D materials using wet-jet milling technology and discussed its pathway to industrial-scale production. Prof. Bonaccorso also demonstrated how wet-jet milling technology enables liquid-phase production of 2D materials, providing a robust platform for developing 2D material-based energy devices. Additionally, he shared his team's cutting-edge research on applications in energy conversion, storage, and anti-corrosion coatings.
The engaging and thought-provoking presentation spurred active discussions among the audience, who posed questions related to their own work. Following the lecture, Director Liu Zhongfan presented Prof. Bonaccorso with a commemorative certificate for his participation in the BGI Lecture Series.
